It's almost enough to make me want to make a lawn monoculture with that hideous substance, 'Weed N Feed' and put in some nice annual bedding. But not quite.
:-D I know what you mean, I hate it looking like I've jumped on a trendy bandwagon. My parents were into growing their own food, organic gardening and growing native plants from the 60s onwards. I think we were the only family with a compost heap when I was growing up and we never went anywhere in the car without sacks & a shovel in case there was the chance to pick up horse poo for the garden. Not good when you're giving friends a lift home :-P
I'm glad that native stuff is popular again, though not least because it makes it easier to find the plants I want :-)
