Last night was my sister's show with Stephen Pearcy former singer of the 80s Hair/Metal band Ratt. It was a disaster. They were asked to get there at 3:30, do a sound check and play at 5. The girls did that....but no Stephen Pearcy to do his sound check. Lots of waiting around. He finally comes at 6 and doesn't want anything on stage and no one in the place. Now, this is a saloon....not a theater, not an auditorium so it is small. My sister and the girls move their stuff to the side off of the stage and leave so Stephen can do his thing. I guess he started to demand all this stuff to the owners that they couldn't get in that short of notice and then he had a diva fit.
He finally leaves and my sister walks in to find her kit all messed up. Someone threw her double kick and (hopefully didn't) throw her brand new, Morgan Rose snare that was over $350! It was on its side! No clue who did it but it was out of the way.
The girls did their thing. Funny part was their music didn't fit with the others bands. The girls were too much metal and hard rock for the others. They did get good feedback though. Didn't get paid because Stephen had to have all his requests in order to play.....such a stereotypical (old time) rock star. What does he think he is back in the 80s where he was big and can get anything he wants? Times have changed.....
