I bought Helena some of her fall clothes last week, most had to be returned due to size, and Helena not liking them. So I took her along when I returned them, and let her pick out what she liked within the budget of what I had already spent. She has very different tastes from me, but what she got does look good on her and she is happy with it.
It is strange to have this happen so soon, though. I suspect I will have to give a budget and drop her off when she hits the pre-teen years, if she is already this opinionated about it now.
Also she is very conscious of how she looks in comparison to her friends. She was thrilled yesterday to be the prettiest in her new dress. All the things she picked are super-girly dresses, except one pair of cute jeans. Leggings, I will be buying lots of leggings.
I have to get her a few more outfits, but it looks like some of her outerwear will still fit from last year, so that helps a lot.
She wants to be Kitty princess Mindy (my mom's cat) for Halloween, and is constantly going around the house meowing and rubbing her head, and kneading her 'paws' on us. I think we can make that happen. Kitty costume + princess accessories.
