Our anniversary gift to each other is to paint our bedroom tomorrow while Helena is at day care. :)
We went to a nice dinner and a movie last night so we weren't completely boring and settled. Dinner at Kanki was super yummy, and The Dark Knight was amazing! Wow, if you haven't seen it yet go now.
The one thing that put a damper on the evening were the two sets of parents who brought their fucking toddlers to the movie, so they could be terrified and scream through half of the scenes with the Joker. The fact that it was way past their bedtime didn't help either. I think having one of my own has made me more sensitive to that kind of thing. I really wanted to go over and smack the shit out of them for putting their babies through that. I just don't get it, they couldn't possibly be enjoying the movie what with having to deal with the screaming and all. The kids definitely weren't enjoying it. Who pays 9 dollars a ticket for that experience? Get a sitter or wait to rent it and watch when the kid is asleep.
I thought we might have to deal with a six or seven-year old there with the rest of his family, but they sat near the front and his mom pulled him out of the theater when he got upset. He was a little too young to be there but I understand that they wouldn't want him to feel left out by being the only one not to go, and his distress was handled.
