Let me begin by saying, 6 more weeks and you have no earthly idea how much I am looking forward to graduation day.
This week we got to do the flashover chamber, it was awesome. My shift was the last to go, about the time the rain started pouring in. We were inside waiting for it to warm up when an instructor came by to let us know that the tornado sirens were going off. Ha, they told them that if there was any rotation to knock on the sides of the container with the tools and we would come out. =) We also had our third fire, next week it's suppose to get more stressful because we have to take over radio communications. That's code for they're going to be chewing us out to no end. I've pinpointed some skills I need to work on, I hope to accomplish that this weekend. Oh and I'm happy to say that I successfully drop started a chainsaw yesterday, a big deal to me =). We've also had a lot of HazMat which is code for lecture. I believe we're being tested to see just how much lecture we can go through without falling asleep. We each have different techniques for staying awake, for me every time I feel myself going I get a piece of sour candy. The quick jolt is helpful =).
Not a whole lot to update about this week...oh yeah our entire shift almost got ran over by a car while carrying a 3" hose across the road today, heh, that was slightly entertaining. I found it the weirdest thing, I overheard one of the guys on my shift saying how I am one of the guys. I was slightly shocked especially considering who it was that said it. It was nice to hear. =)
