Quick Update:
1. Building Dashboard Grant= Fully funded. $25,000, plus some additional funding from a campus department and some in-kind donations. This is incredible, and proves that the impossible can happen. This grant was a disaster after I gave the oral pitch, but somehow the idea was redeemed enough to convince the committee. I hope and plan to make it a much more massive success than myself or anyone else on campus can presently imagine. This is a great opportunity, and I'm really excited.
2. Just got back from a week in California with the fam and 3 days in Denver with Alli. It was a lot of fun, but I'm happy to be home. It was just the right amount of time.
3. I can't sleep. Partly because I've slept so much recently (all we did in Denver was eat, drink and sleep) and partly because I'm excited to get working again (which is mostly a great problem to have)
4. I tracked down the guy in the youtube video I posted a while ago--the feminist slam poetry thing--and asked for permission to perform it on campus at some point. He said that was fine. His other advice was: "Remember that these words don't need you. These things are so horrible they speak for themselves." Damn. I have no idea when/where I'll be performing it, or with who, but I'm excited about this too.
5. Adam is lending me his bike while he's out of town. His bike is amazing and I'm in love with it.
6. Life is great and I love it.
7. I'm going to go try sleep again, because tomorrow will be infinitely better after good sleep.
