Yesterday I finally put "Steady and unsteady solutions for coating flow on a rotating horizontal cylinder; two dimensional theoretical and numerical modeling" in the mail to Phys. Fluids, about three years too late.
This was accompanied by almost none of the usual feelings of relief and exuberance that go with finally getting a submission off my desk and on its way to someone else's. While it's still (I hope) interesting and important work, I'm embarrassed by the fact that most of the actual work was done well before the end of the last century. Better late than never though, and now I can concentrate on Part II, which should have a shorter title.
