"I think I'm adorable."
I think this is the best episode we've had in a couple of weeks, but ESPECIALLY because of that last 30 seconds of Dwight dressed as Jim, LMAO AWESOMECAKES
First of all, I loved the opening scene with Dean and Sam breaking in to steal some ancient artifacts, because DUDE, that is so a scene from like 23948023984 fanfics. :D Also, just for the record, I'm with Sam in the "Stupidest Plan EVER" camp. Seriously, how could they not have expected the Feds to be a half-step behind them and just waiting for the chance to catch up?
Secondly, I liked that we had a chance to see Dean in full-on bar brawl mode. It's not often that we get to see the boys fight real people, must less anyone who could hold a candle to the sort of training they've had. I've always thought Dean was all about the bar brawls, but this is the first we've seen anything to support that idea.
And, okay, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not exactly an unbiased party, but DAMN. Those boys can seriously make anything sexy. Even orange jumpsuits and white socks and slippers.
This episode was also chock full of Dean-love for me. I feel like we've been getting a lot of that lately, and I like it - I like that we have something light-hearted to alleviate all the heavy shit that's been going down, because otherwise this show would just be a downer every week, you know? I like that Dean is still ever-ready with the smartass comments and quips and badly timed jokes, even after everything that's happened. And I like that Sam still calls him on it. It sort of shows us that no matter what, they're still them.
Case in point:
"Don't worry, Sam; I promise I won't trade you for smokes."
"Dean, does it bother you at all how well you fit in here?" "No, not at all."
:D
Also, dude, they totally had me going. Maybe I missed it if they said Deacon's name in association with his face earlier, or something, but when "head asshole guard" took them into a room alone, I thought for sure that they were going to get the shit beat out of them. Or that he was at least going to try. Or something. And I was like "WAIT THAT'S DEACON?" So, yeah. Good job throwing me for a loop, Kripke. :D
