(no subject)
There is so much I want to say about this episode, but mainly it's just that I am once again BLOWN AWAY by this show. I'm sure it had some issues, but whatever, I'm so a;dkfj;lksadjf; right now that I couldn't think of any if I tried. I'm also all weepy, because I can't see grown men cry and not start crying, too, and DEAN'S EMO TEARS KILL ME EVERY TIME WTF.
But, er, backtracking a bit, Madison was totally HOT (also, ex-Mrs. Luthor #2?). I mean, Sam would have to be freakin' blind to not want to hit that. So, yeah, it was good to see him acknowledging his attraction for her, even if he was a total awkward dork about it. Seriously, I haven't seen so much facial expression twitchiness since ...ever. Even Dean's sleazy pick-up lines are less painful than that. But, well, he got it right in the end, I guess, and the wall-slamming kisses were pretty fucking hot. And, yeah, SEX. GUH. FLEXING MUSCLES AND NAKEDNESS AND MORE FLEXING MUSCLES AND JAW-BITING FROM BEHIND AND, YEAH, SAM TOTALLY TOPS.
Ahem.
I thought it was interesting that not one, but BOTH werewolves turned out to be unaware of their animalistic natures. This is now two episodes in a row that we've had dealing with people/spirits unwittingly doing evil, and the moral dilemma that accompanies hunting them. Dean still seems to be adamant that evil is evil is evil, and it must all be disposed of in a similar fashion, which of course makes him a big damned hypocrite when it comes to Sam. I also wonder if that isn't part of the reason why Sam stepped up and killed Madison himself at the end of the episode ...not only because "she asked him to," but also because he needed to prove to both himself and Dean that sometimes you have to hurt the people you love in order to do the right thing.
And, all right, as much as it absolutely tore me up to see Sam all wet-faced and snotty and so absolutely broken by this? What tore my heart out was that one tear Dean shed while watching Sam walk away. I think Jensen did an unbelievable job of conveying about fifteen different emotions in one 5-second clip, and it just ...man. I felt like I could hear Dean's thoughts loud and clear, the agonized "I COULDN'T DO IT," knowing he'd never be strong enough to hold a gun to his brother's forehead and pull the trigger.
Oh man.
So, yeah, this episode pretty much pwned me. And broke me.
But next week's looks like fun! :D

I never did post the fic, but I have an unfinished Sam/Dean/Jo fic where there is discussion of Sam and Dean playing rock-paper-scissors for who gets to sleep with the girl. I love when I mind-meld with the writers. :D
