friday the 12th was my regular day off, a fantastic excuse to see franki and paul who were down in Kyoto for the day
Despite staying up far too late the night before watching gangster films, I woke up in the morn and headed down to kyoto town, where the two brits were sipping tea in a cafe

we then hiked to a temple, which seemed really lonely and happy to see us. Noone else was there.
behind the temple was the ominous planet of the apes or 'monkey park' where we expended all our stamina points hiking up the steepnessness. 'do not look at the monkey in the eye' we were warned.. they give you a toothy glare to scare you. Of course then if you keep looking after that then they get scared and leave, but i personally was scared enough of their skeleton face to avoid the eye stare
After this most of the day was spent digesting an enormous 'kyoto burger' that was two eggs, two hearty beef patties, a tomato, cheese, lettuce and assorted condiments on an all-bread bun
much of this was done while hiking through thousands of red torii gates at the fushimi inari shrine while drinking beer and sake and enduring racism from bitchy teashop owner lady
frankiki and her bro then elected to hit the karaoke in Osaka, so after a slightly sobering train ride, we signed up for the all-you-can-drink for two hours deal.
We definitely drank our value.
the karaoke progressed from cigarettes and alcohol to mongol800, Queen, the Beatles, a sweet disney dueta, some japanese song I tried to comprehend, greenday, under the Sea, more queen, and I think more queen. oh and lady gaga!
during this period we drank four pitchers of beer, four cassis cocktails, six shochu cocktials, three whiskeys on the rocks and a whiskeysoda highball. just between frankiki, her bro and me.

after this amazing musical time of jumping around on the cushiony goodness, we went to rock rock, which I belive was moslty dancing to heavy tunez and it much of a happy blur but still slightly less awesome than the awesome karaoke
