Old School CSI and Other Stuff

Now that it's hockey season CSI gets bumped in favor of Caps' games. Thursday night I kind of wish I'd watched CSI over the Caps because they choked against Boston. Luckily, they found their game last night against Atlanta.

I actually agreed with most of your previous post, which I didn't comment on since many folks had already written my general feelings about the issues of Brass/Sara friendship. So, that said, I didn't mean to imply the "father" label in the prespective of Brass looking for a substitute Ellie or that Sara was searching for a father figure at all. I was only using the term to avoid the mistake of implying there was a romantic overtone to their friendship. I never, ever saw them romantically involved. I did see them in the type of firendship your first post discussed...2 people who had alot of hard knocks in life and a pride in coming thorugh the fire as pretty good guys. And just as my friends "Mom" out with each other when one notices another not taking care of themselves the way they should be, Brass sometimes pulls a fatherly chide on Sara when she needs it. And Sara has done the same to Brass occasionally. And perhaps that's the crux of the matter. I've always seen their friendship on a much deeper level than the writers have portrayed, one that can take liberties others in the group cannot (or would try and get smacked down for it).

As far as Griss and Brass, I think the writers just didn't care enough to keep that relationship consistent, which pisses me off to no end. There was just too much interplay in older epis to blow off in WP's last season. The only excuse I can give the writers is that I think the enitre group saw much less of Grissom and Sara once they got toether and less still after Sara was abducted. Hopefully this made some sense, because I am glad you continue to remind me why Brass is such an integral part of the GSR dynamic. And why I think PG will always hold a soft spot in my heart :-)
