Old School CSI and Other Stuff

Now that it's hockey season CSI gets bumped in favor of Caps' games. Thursday night I kind of wish I'd watched CSI over the Caps because they choked against Boston. Luckily, they found their game last night against Atlanta.

I don't know what he did but it must've been really bad!

The thing that I keep thinking lately is how intelligent he is. Grissom was supposed to be the "Book smart" one and Brass the street smart one. In reality, PG seems to be way ahead of the rest in the intellectual department. I remember reading an article about him where the author mentioned that he was currently reading some really obscure but complex philosopher. The guy is obviously good with languages. I've seen interviews where he was speaking in the interviewer's native tongue, easily. So we have this really smart guy who is getting the dumbest lines. Wake up people and give the man something to work with!

And I thought happily they were going to let his hair grow a little and even commented on it. But then in this episode, he shows up with the shaved look again. Reminded me of Nick a couple of seasons ago. But then Nick is looking pretty shiny on top these days too. I wonder if it is some symapthy thing they are doing in support of someone on the crew that has cancer or something. Whatever the reason, ugh! Grow some hair guys.

As for the episode, it was the best I've seen in ages. This one, along with a couple of others already this season, give me hope that the show is back on the right track. Now if they could just give Brass some good stuff!

Dare we hope for this week's effort?

I saw a promo posted on one of the boards that supposedly has Brass in it (couldn't get it to play) so it sounds like he's at least in the episode.

As for PG, the next time you're in a book store, check out a book called "The Poem I Turn To". PG has a section in there and in it he talks about how he worked on Homer's Iliad and Odyssey in Latin and Greek for six years and he published a translation of Horace's An Ode to Phyrrus. So, yeah, the guy's no slacker. And I suspect he needs to be challenged or he gets bored.

Speaking of Nick, I wonder if he's not shaving his head because of how gray he's getting. Or maybe it's because he's receding on the sides. Or maybe he and PG have some sort of pact to irritate the viewers.
