i've been here for a week already! insaneee.

things are pretty groovy. these kiwis sure know how to partayyy. it makes me a little nervous, actually. ah. but it's also still orientation week...im assuming things will die down once classes start. i hope they do anyway, i cant afford to continue drinking nearly every day. and i hate it, this being worried about money crap. whenever i buy anything, regardless of how essential it might be, i cant do it without fearing that im going to run out at some point. ah. but anyway, things are fairly cool.

my flat is definitely interesting...quite a diverse bunch of personalities. first there's isyl(his real name is ilya) but he's actually called moscow because he's originally from russia (his family moved here a few years ago and he just got his NZ citizenship). he sort of reminds me of hmmm zach, because he's a slob and he mooches off of people and he says obnoxious things like "can i stick my dick in you?" sorry zach, dont mean to offend, but that's such a rudes comment. but all in all, he's a funny, entertaining kid. and he's brilliant... a med student, never goes to class, drinks everyday, and is still apparently at the top of his class. and then bernie is the other kiwi guy... totally mellow and cool, pretty quiet. then sophieee gray is tons o'fun. she brings us out and keeps moscow away from us americans when he gets trashed. the other kiwi girl, melissa, is interesting. we rarely see her because she's either not at the flat or locked in her room. she never eats dinner with us, and she also wont go out drinking because she apparently has body image issues and doesnt want the extra calories from booze. bah. i thought the whole eating disorder deal was pretty american, but apparently not. girls down here are also really into fashion and makeup, which is not what i expected at all. anyway, i also live with 2 other americans, one's from south dakota and one's from philly. the south dakota one is super cool, the one from philly is here with 11 other kids from her school so she hangs out with them all the time. LAME. LAMEEEE LAME.

so that's our flat. there are 6 kids in the flat across from us too, so the 13 of us chill a lot. it's quite nifty.

yesterday the university shipped all us international kids out on buses to explore the peninsula, and it was incredible. i now understand why everyone says NZ is amazingggggg and beautiful. so gorgeous. ahhhh. and my fucking digital camera is a piece of shit and took these shitty ass pictures that did absolutely no justice for the awesomeeeenessssss of it all. oh well. but I SAW A PENGUIN. and a bunch of seals on some rocks. AND A BIG MOTHER OF A SEA LION. soooo crazy. it was just chillin by itself in the sand far down on the otehr side of the beach, but my neighbor ada and i wanted to see it, so we walked by ourselves. we got 50 feet or so from it, and then decided to stop as the 2 of us would have been pretty defenseless if the mofoooo decided to attack. and apparently they'll get vicious if you get between them and the water. but all was well. we survived the sea lion, attack-free.

so i also joined the tramping club with one of my american roomates, in hopes to see the country and meet hot hiker dudes bahaha. but then ada said that she and trevor (her flatmate from hawaii) are going to take his car and go tramping on the weekends. so maybe i'll just go with them. apparently a lot of international kids buy cars for the semester and then just sell them back. pretty crazy. trev bought this hot gold wagon thing hahaha.

every saturday morning there's a fresh fruit/veggie market in town, so im going to go get some with ada and my roomie laura, then we're goinnnn roadtripping. ada's kiwi roomate is giving us her car for the weekend. how generousssssss is that? damn. so we're just gonna start driving somewhere and see where we end up. rockkkkkin. then monday classes finally start.

so yea, that's my life thusss far.

peaceeeeee, kids
