The Fisher King

This is one of the latest movies I've seen. Probably the most recent one that I saw from Terry Gilliam, one of my favorite screenwriters, and also, in my opinion, one of my favorite directors. He ain't on my list, but anyways, this movie is called the Fisher King, starring Robin Williams, Jeff Bridges, and Amanda Plummer. It's probably one of my favorite romantic comedies. Jeff Bridges plays a cynical radio talk show host that accidentally inspires a man to go into a restaurant (yuppy-breeding hole) and kill everyone, including himself, and Robin Williams' wife. Robin Williams goes into a catatonic arrest or something, and goes nuts. So, henceforth, Robin plays a schizophrenic bum, who's in love with a mousy little girl that works at a publishing company. He follows her every day, and knows her every move and routine as if she was his sister. So, one day, Jeff meets Robin and feels sorry for his loss, which he felt he caused, and tries to make himself feel better by lending him a helping hand. Robin takes him on a ride from getting his girl to getting a "holy grail" from a billionaire's house on 5th Avenue. The movie, directed by Terry Gilliam, screenplay by Richard Lavangranese, is a masterpiece of murder, love, comedy, and everyhting essential, in telling a good story. Along with a great cast, and a great crew, this movie is amongst Terry's best. LONG LIVE THE GILLIAM!
