(no subject)
I don't know and very much doubt that this entry will do justice to my latest Bright Eyes concert experience.
My semi-friend, mostly acquaintance, Dave, and I drove from Charleston to Myrtle Beach to see one of the final shows that I've heard Conor is doing under the moniker of Bright Eyes. No where have I found information pertaining to the validity of a "final Bright Eyes tour" but due to the fact that Conor has been mugged in Columbia and Hilton Head owes him $3,000, I can't see why he would even WANT to come back to this shit state. Regardless, I'm happy he did.
Before the show, Dave and I decided to grab drinks at the Buffalo Wild Wings nearby. I chatted with one of the waiters as he was planning on attending a Uni in Durham, England so I gave him a little England pointers like "don't call 'Yorkshire' anything but 'Yorkshure'" aka like New Hampshire. Same deal. I should have also told him about the difference between 'pants' and 'trousers'...ah well.
After I finished my beer, David had finished two, apparently, we walked back to the venue to start waiting for the opening band, First Aid Kit. Two girls and a guy from Sweden. They were alright. I partook in a $4 can of PBR, sucked it up and bought a $5.75 can of Newkie Brown, then decided to round my night off with a $6.50 wee plastic cup of Merlot.
Yadda yadda yadda...this was supposed to be posted months ago. Ugh.... anyway, Conor was extending his hand out to the crowd, so drunk me did so, and he had grabbed mine to hoist himself out into the crowd. Sick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvLg3eim10U
I was behind the guys hand he was holding onto for a long time in that video.
Anyway, made out with a stranger from Ohio. Best Bright Eyes concert yet.
