September just hit me.

An hour ago we had our last video conference with University of Capetown. We talked about the trip- what we liked, what we didn't, our favorite bits, and how it has impacted us. It was good to see the faces from so many miles away.

Walking back to my apartment, it was like being hit in the chest.

How many lives have you lived since June? How many lives have you lived since last September? ...since you were born? Since yesterday?

If you're interested to learn exactly what I did this summer, come to 26 Hosler Building on Wednesday, September 28th at 4:30. My class is giving a presentation, followed by information on the next CAUSE trip. Refreshments will be served. Here's what the flyer has to say:

"Find out what happened when 16 EMS students stopped being tourists and started getting real…
THE REAL WORLD SOUTH AFRICA
This summer, 16 students enrolled in EMSC 470W CAUSE class, traveled to South Africa to witness first-hand the conflict between the demands of industry and tourism, the needs of native peoples and the preservation of one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Their extraordinary experience has been transformed into a presentation that is both enlightening and entertaining. We invite you to join them as they share their experiences and insights at the Environmental Justice in South Africa Symposium."
