The first day of school
By Sari Elizabeth's Mind. (Get it, huh? Huh?)
There will be hugs. Lots of hugs. The kind of hugs that knock everyone to the ground. Those kind. Then giggling will ensue. We'll probably just be happy-shocked in the grass at Old Main for a while. THen maybe we'll get hungry. If we get hungry, we'll HAVE to have smoothies. So we'll go to Irvings. And we'll get smoothies and perhaps we'll go downstairs to the couches and sit on the couches and not have to miss each other anymore. Those couches are so comfy. But we'll try not to fall asleep there again. Why? Because campus is BEAUTIFUL in the summer. So we'll walk. Perhaps find the playground?! And we'll swing and laugh, swing and laugh. Stories will be told, of adventures and summer evenings and we'll all listen intently (Oh, how we've missed the sounds of each others voices!). And we'll walk some more. Go in the stores. Smell the familiar smells. Maybe McDonalds will have yummy shakes this time? We'll buy some cookie dough and eat it on a bench somewhere. Put a flag in Keltopia (we still haven't done that!)Go to the top of the parking garage and sing Jack Johnson at the top of our lungs. We must eat out! It's our first day back. So we'll sit down somewhere and maybe share some fajitas(we're still poor college kids, after all). Then we'll go back to someone's room. We have so many choices all in the same building. And we'll say hello to familiar faces. Hopefully we'll have remembered to buy bubbles at McClanahans. If we have, we'll blow them and walk. Wouldn't it be perfect if it rained? Whatever the weather, we'll walk and talk and eat and hug and skip until the sun goes down. Then we'll retreat to the piano room and sleep close together, warm and happy. We'll have dreams of being alive.
