A.N.: Inspired by NEWS’s Taiyou no Namida. This originally started out as a different fic in a few ways, but as the months passed I eventually forgot what my original concept for the fic was, so I came up with a new one. I don’t own any of these boys, although I know we’d all like to.

The rain was splattering against the window pane gently as the figure looked out, staring into nothing, a drink forgotten next to him on the windowsill.

Loud spurts of laughing could be heard clear across to his side of the room, he looked over. His coworkers and friends all laughed as Taguchi Junnosuke, clearly very drunk, was trying to tell jokes to a rather large potted plant.

A small smile on his lips as he let out a low chuckle before returning his gaze to the window. The rain, for whatever reason was capturing his complete attention tonight, it was fascinating to him.

It was hitting the pane so gently, even though it was pouring so hard out. Every time it would splatter against the glass it would form a different pattern of steaks, erasing the ones that came before it.

His drink disappeared without him even noticing, Subaru and Tegoshi snickering as they ran off to turn his drink into a horrible tasting concoction, he wouldn’t even notice the taste.

“You shouldn’t be so down Tacchon!”

“Who said I was down?”

“Well usually when people are down they look out a window when its rain, remembering what caused them to be in so much pain.”

“I can promise you I’m feeling perfectly fine. It’s just the rain…its fascinating. It’s so simple, yet it holds such beauty.”

He reached for his drink, no longer wanting to fight his thirst. It was gone, he knew it had been taken by someone else, so he turned, set on getting a new one.

Lightning flashed, there, there in the doorway, he was standing there, dressed all in white, so unusual for someone who was usually so colorful.

Ohkura’s eyes stared at the empty space, the bags under his eyes seemed even larger in the dim lighting, the empty space that had just moments before, been filled by someone that had fascinated him just as much as the rain.

The laughter came roaring back, the shouts of “Put that down its breakable!” were loud and clear.

The rain splattered against the window pane gently, but the figure was no longer watching, he was laughing and smiling, he was trying to regain what he had lost, even if they both knew that what happened would never be forgotten.
