Sad news at a wedding.

Today I went to a wedding. My half-cousin? My mother's side of the family is complicated. Whatever, the wedding was nice, lots of tears of joy, nice food, nice music, speeches tasteful, sober, funny, and curt. Upon our arrival at the church, though, we received sad news. The condition of my cousin Sharon, who has been battling with cancer off and on over the past few years, has suddenly worsened significantly. She started chemo two days ago in the hopes of buying some time, but even still, it's estimated that she only has six months left. Sharon, who is in her thirties, married Darren, and has since become a motherly figure for his three children from a previous marriage. She's put up with a lot of medical yuck growing up and going on. She thinks about others a lot. When poo hit the fan for us, she had us over many times. When her friend was selling a bass for ridiculously cheap, she thought of me (I had told her some six months earlier that I was thinking about one). It's cruel that she should be in such a position now. It bums me out. Please keep her in your prayers.

Apart from that: it was nice to be off work today. Nice to know what Saturdays are like for the rest of the world. Tomorrow: another day, another dollar. Lot shift. Weekend. Hot out. Gross.

Until next time,

Nicolas
