Holy crap. Do I ever ache! This is my third long lot shift at work in as many days. I have one more tomorrow. Then I have two days off. I think Today I lifted something like forty 30 Kg bags of concrete mix, and 30 bolts of shingles (heavy f***ers). Sunday, I lost count. Saturday... Oh my sweet Lord. The guy who closed lot Friday night... You see, usually, when you empty a garbage bin, you take the full bag, TIE it, and toss it in the grey trash cart. Well, he neglected the whole tying part for one bag, and haphazardly tosses it in the cube. Then he pushed the cube in front of the compactor, and, instead of getting the key and throwing it all out, he went home and left it all for me. So, come Saturday, I have to pick through rotting little pieces of garbage, old coffee cups, old dairy queen cups, and other assorted fun with a dust pan. That wouldn't have been so bad, except that the cube was already 3/4 full before he threw the garbage in with big tarps, long clumsy pieces of strapping, and a bunch of scrap wood from the lumber department. You know, the stuff you usually can't handle without them getting all over you? Yeah! That stupid dumbs*** f***brain. I never looked on the schedule to see who it was. I don't want to know. It's safer this way. *twitch* Between that and all the customer calls, it took me all morning to empty it, and the other full-but-not-disgusting-as-all-festering-hell garbage cart into the compactor. God I love my job!!! Next week: more shifts in Tool Rental, and even a Cash shift. Thank God. I'm worn out already.
