So, you remember
that wonderful table I was talking about a few months ago? Well, it has become quite the pain in our arse. Don’t get me wrong…it’s still wonderful and beautiful and everything but finding chairs to fit has become nearly impossible.
That’s what we get for thinking outside of the interior decor box. A drafting table has to be higher than your standard table so that people can stand at it but not so high that it resembles a pub table. See the problem? Standard chairs are waaaaay too short and bar height stools are waaaaay to high.
So since the table was so reasonable ($150!!!), we splurged a bit and got the chairs handmade. We decided to base the design off the
1006 Navy Side Chair with some slight modifications to account for comfort. Whether playing games or chatting, we find ourselves sitting around the dinning room table quite often and since the chairs are higher than usual, I definitely needed
someplace to rest my feet.
Now we’ve just got to sand them down a bit and decide on the coat. What color stain do you think would work? Or should we paint them solid black? Please help!
