first post in a while.
it's been a while. sorry... :\ spam mentioned something about livejournal today and inspired me to make a post. some devastating things have happened lately. my friend shannon lost her two friends Chris Newsom and Channon Christian this past week because they were murdered by some carjackers. this saddens me mainly because shannon was extremely close with channon and i don't know what it feels like to lose a friend to death like that, but it really made me cry today. it deeply disturbs me that these two people were murdered out of nowhere, it seems as though there was no motive what-so-ever. also from what i've heard from the articles online is that the poor girl was brutally raped.
although i did not know channon or chris, my heart goes out to all of the families and people who are mourning their losses.
hearing about this tragedy has made me realize how precious life is and how those around me are extremely valuable to me. i cannot imagine how the families and friends of Channon and Chris are feeling, nor do i want to. a loss such as that is too much to think about right now.
the men who committed this crime should be tried for the death penalty. i'm not usually the type of person to say "an eye for an eye" but in this case i think it's warranted.
