As some of you are aware, I've been filling in as bass player for the
Nevertherym guys, until they find someone more permanent.
They're a style unto themselves, but I guess if you had to pin them down, it's a bit of a ross between Tool, Dream Theatre, some fringe dwelling technical prog stuff, mixed with violins.
Very different than anything I've played before, which makes for a challenge! Some songs extend to 10 - 12 minutes, with lots of complexities in the riffs, and subtle changes. Makes for trying to learn a 45 minute set in one month with no recordings of most of the songs to practice to very hard!
After much hard work (and Rob, Andy and Miriam not strangling me during rehersals), I'll be playing some gigs with the guys.
From the Wagga gig onwards, the EP will be on sale as well. It's a great recording, and the guys have done some fantastic work on it.
Dates are as follows:
Sept 6th
Nevetherym @ The Grand, Wyong (I won't be playing this one, as I just haven't had quite enough time to get everything spot on. Thanks to Beef for stepping in for me here)
Sept 22nd
Nevetherym @ The Bass Bar, Wagga
Oct 5th
Nevetherym w/ Leicohtica @ The Grand, Wyong
Oct 6th
Nevetherym w/ Leicohtica @ Abduction X, Sydney
There are *plenty* more dates coming up too, so keep an eye out for them. Some rough ideas so far are: October 13th as well as November 9th & 10th.
