"Please Stop Laughing at Me"

Before reading this book a couple years ago, I felt a bit empowered because of how my outlook on life was (i.e following "Live and Let Live", not trying to live up to other people's expectations, counter people if they tried to harass me). Then, one Christmas, my brother gives me this book by Joddee Blanco. It took me two years to read it because I was afraid of being triggered. Then, I sucked it up and read it. I'm glad I did now.

Joddee Blanco is a fellow former victim of bullying that goes into her experience of what happened to her, her personal observations about bullies and how bullying is dealt with, and how she began to learn to counter them. She does have other books too beside this one, but this one is the first that she wrote.

If you're still a victim or you're a former victim still having trouble dealing with the aftermath of bullying, I strongely suggest you read this book.

suicide, depression, books, school, personal stories, advice, bullying prevention, bullying, help, support, victim blaming, abuse, school bullies
