I was thinking about the theme behind this message yesterday...how I think people don't really "get over" the hurt, they just find ways of dealing with it, constructively or destructively.

I would like to think some people are lucky enough to get completely over what happened to them. However, something that bugs the hell out of me is just because some of these people succeed with that makes others (particularly those that have never been bullied) think it's so easy to get over something like this. It's even worse, imo, when other former victims get on other victims about dealing with the aftermath of bullying because they don't realize that not every single victim of bullying had the same experience as they did. Plus, we handle situations so differently from each other...whether if it's the aftermath of being bullied or surviving a disaster ( ... )

That is a really simple thing, but it is very deep.

It is. It's also probably the best comparsion I've seen personally of how bullying affects someone.

That's like, one of the best abstract object lessons of bullying I've ever heard of.
