From here:
In a rare and forceful act of advocacy, an Iowa newspaper devoted the entire front page of its Sunday edition to an anti-bullying editorial after a gay teen committed suicide.

The impact of that coverage was really exponential because that full-page editorial was so bold that it generated even more coverage from other news outlets. Honestly, the fact that children would rather die than deal with the day-to-day hell they face should be enough to generate the coverage in the first place. It should be enough to give everyone pause for reflection.

Sadly, even though entire movements have been inspired and people are trying to get or sustain programs that address and help prevent bullying, bullying is still such an entrenched behavior, and by a significant portion of the population, an encouraged one. Our society still has a long way to go in learning to understand one another and respect individual differences and boundaries, even if we don't necessarily like them. Hopefully, by dedicating the entire front page to the issue of bullying, the importance of addressing the problem for the benefit of ALL will quickly be made apparent.
