Id have to say last night was probably the most unique night of my life. I sang in a church built in the 1200s and it was goorrrgeous. Everyone sounded amazing in the concert, and by the end, everyone in that little place was bawling thier eyes out. Afterwards, the locals had a "suprise" for the performers so we all hopped into random cars and began a relatively long journey to the top of the mountain. We ended up at this realllyyy old but beautiful farmhouse looking thing. I know in my last post, I described the best meal Ive ever experienced...but I am about to take that back. Because the rep we sang in the church was atleast 700 years old....they decided to feed us just like they would have back then. Everything was prepared in one of those ancient ovens where you make a little bonfire with twigs and wait till the entire oven turns white..and then cook your breads and stuff. Everything was natural, no nasty chemicals it was incredible. The prosciutto we ate had been aging for atleast two years and the cheese was phenominal. and, of course, the wine was made by them as well. In the middle of the meal the really old Italian ladies started screaming the sinatra song, New york new york...so everyone started singing it. (everyone was pretty chipper from the wine at this point) THEN....this ancient old dude well into his 80s whips out his accordian and starts playing all these old Italian folk songs. They then proceeded to start Dancing around, and somehow I ended up frollicking around with this old dude in the whole mess. There were a few of us dancing around like hooligans, it was a blast. It really felt as if we had been transplanted into centuries and centuries past. It really was a release. and thats it for my crazy night.
Ciao!
