THIS will be the LAST time I ever try to tell a friend that they need to stop rambling on and on about the SAME DAMN THINGS ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME!

Here's The Story... )

Non-confrontational peace-loving wuss that I am, I probably would have just kept quiet and ignored it. I mean, unless it was a personal attack, where you felt you had to defend yourself?

But then, it seems you were sticking up for your friend, so that's admirable. I agree, waaay immature to change her picture like that. See, LJ is way better. lol Sometimes I feel like telling my f-list to shut the hell up already, but usually I just vent to a friend and the urge passes! (I don't feel that way about YOU, hun - but there are certain people who will post 10 times a day instead of editing one or two posts to add stuff, and it does get repetitive!)

Wendy, sometimes I just have to speak up for myself because the person in question loves to attack anyone who badmouths hockey. Well, I'll badmouth it if it's ALL she's frakkin' blabbin about all the time LOL

Otherwise I am pretty chill and go with the flow...just sometimes people gotta know when to change the subject and unfortunately she WON'T!

Understandable! And if this person is attacking others, she should be able to handle a little criticism herself. Does she still have the flipping off avatar up? :D

There is a "hide" feature on Facebook where you can hide the posts of certain friends. I had to do it with someone who was overly vigilant with posting about her belligerence over perceived racism. Is it REALLY necessary to post EVERY ARTICLE you find that has to do with someone feeling they were racially slurred??

Good for you for saying something. I am very non-confrontational, so I tend to not say something even when I am annoyed. I know I get stuck on topics, too, and often sound like a broken record, but I try to mix it up and post about / talk about other things.

If your friend is going to be an ass and ignore you, then maybe you are better off. At least you don't have to listen to her BS anymore.

Hmmmm...I'll have to dick around with my FB and find that hide feature so I can tune her out LOL

Thanx Natalie :)

I'd probably start making comments to show my disinterest.

"Yep". "Uh huh". "That's what you said last week". "You mentioned that before".

They'll get the idea that you have no interest in whatever they're talking about, and either shut up, or talk about something else.

(Do you need this icon? LOL!)

I can relate to your frustration in this situation. I guess I can understand them posting about something in like just live journal for example, but when they start posting in all the different internet sites your involved in it's hard to ignore. I was doting on a guy at work and even felt that was a little bit weird to just go on and on my LJ about (although I might post a little about him in there). I think that it's frustrating because like you said, even with your favorite things, there are just times when you DON'T feel like talking about them or feel like talking about something else. It's like you are reading your pal's updates in order to see what's going on with her, and she's so wrapped up in herself right now, that she can't show care for you or anyone ( ... )

That's right. She knows how to get back at me...she insults Todd Helton on purpose in thinking it'll rattle my cage but I rattle back anymore so she'd better just chill out.

People who don't care what their friends think are shallow and callous and I don't go for that.
