Character Information
Name: Tavros Nitram
Canon Origin/Series: MSPA: Homestuck
School Year: Third Year
Gender: Male
Age: Third
Out of school living location: Warwick, Warwickshire, England (it's a county town in Warwickshire, northwest of London. Wiki is here!)
Blood status: Half Blood

Personality:

First off, out of all the trolls, Tavros is the kindest. He is a firm believer in fairies, though people often tell him they aren't real. He is terrible at being rude to anyone, and often speaks with a slight stutter, indicating this by his reverse case syntax when he types. Tavros is the nicest to the kids and even though he attempts to Troll Dave, he doesn't really put a lot of effort into it. Additionally, he becomes very close with Jade, before she discovers his roll in her grandfather's death. Before that point, he took it upon himself to help her through her quest, even though the other Trolls were just playing around with the humans. He also doesn't want to fight or harm the other trolls, and the only time he does is when he discovers Vriska's role in creating the source of all their problems.

This being said, Tavros is a sensitive guy. The problem, primarily, with him is that his fellow trolls are good at what they do when it comes to trolling, fighting and other aspects of their race. However, he's unable to really get a handle on how to do so, and often awkwardly does so, as in his conversation with Dave. He not only fails at trolling, but Dave easily trolls him back, to the point of Tavros blocking him. Trolling takes some amount of self confidence, which Tavros has none of. He is constantly personifying his own self esteem into a being he calls Rufio, who often says things that Tavros can't. Tavros is also careful to not let Rufio's feelings get hurt.

Mostly, this is all because Tavros is unable to really hate anyone. Karkat states this one time, because of the relationship the troll has with Vriska. She is responsible for his paralysis and constantly torments him because of it. Not only that, but she tries to force him into killing her, something that Tavros honestly cannot too because of his kindness. Despite this, Tavros still cannot hate Vriska, or even the other trolls, who are negative with him sometimes. They often say that he's just not a very good troll and while it's true, Tavros still seems a little innocent to his own faults.

Tavros is also very innocent. He's very unclear about many things, that includes human relationships. The other trolls seem to get it, but because of Tavros' misunderstanding, he killed Jade's grandpa. He doesn't know many things about his own culture and how to properly be a troll, but it doesn't seem to bother him much. He realizes that he does have faults, but not exactly how they affect others perception of him and additionally how his reactions affect the situation. Not only that, but he's incredibly dorky, and even though he's not very good at rapping, he tries anyway. He's also always playing Fiduspawn and imagining things like himself flying, which he isn't afraid to tell people either.

Canon Background: Act Five is the start with the introduction of the trolls of homestuck, which is when Tavros shows up. At his start, he is playing Hivebent, with Vriska as his server player. This isn't particularly a good thing, since during their extreme role playing adventures, Vriska was the person who pushed him off a cliff and making him a paralegic. However, he makes it into the lAND OF SAND AND ZEPHYR in the game and creates a rocket wheelchair. After this, he starts to do useless side quests until Vriska leads him lOMAT where they meet under really awkward circumstances (awkward meaning Vriska is in a fairy costume from his favorite story, Pupa Pan and them kissing).

They began to have an understanding and partnered up, Vriska and Tavros begin to hunt for treasure together. During this, Tavros is seen riding on the back of Horsaroni, the fiduspawn animal that he brought to life. He was also carrying his lance, which is surprising because Tavros is afraid originally of riding the animals he can commune with. It's assumed that Vriska also tought him how to fight as well during their quest. While they were traveling later in their matching rockets, Araidabot interrupted and killed Vriska.

The dying Vriska then controls him and she tells him to take her to her qUEST COCOON so she can obtain the God Tier level by fusing with her dream self. Tavros does as she asks, but when they get there, she repeatedly tells him to kill her and make it quick. He tries, and fails, running away from the situation because of how it scared him. After this Tavros sleeps for a long time and recovers mentally on his dream planet, Prospit, where Vriska no longer is.

After Hivebent, Tavros is given robotic legs from Equius. However, Kanaya has to cut off his legs so they could attach them. He is able to walk, but not down stairs. Later on, he speaks with Dave on his birthday, attempting to troll him and actually getting trolled himself, thus blocking Dave. He then asks Rose what would be the most effective way to get on Dave's nerves, and she mentions poetry. This leads Tavros to start to show off his sICK RHYMES but Dave ignores him. However, Tavros seems pleased with it and leaves it at that.

Tavros talks to Jade more and clearly gets along with her quite well. This is because of their love of their dream world, Prospit, where Tavros is able to walk and fly as well. However, their friendship becomes awkward when Tavros informs her that he controlled Bec, her dog, to save her from shooting herself as a child. This inturn caused the death of her grandfather, which made her upset. Tavros didn't realized what he did was wrong, because he thought that the dog was her guardian, not her grandpa. Shortly after, he discovers Vriska's role in the creation of the big boss that destroyed their game, Bec Noir. Setting off to go after her, he meets her where the inquisiclops was found.

Vriska is in her God Tier outfit, and has increased abilities. Tavros begins to fight, but Vriska takes his weapon from him and stabs him with it. Tavros falls beside Terezi and is declared dEAD. After his death, he visits Dave in a sort of dream like situation, who he is excited to meet, even if he is dead. The only other time Tavros' is shown in canon was his decapitated body twice, once with Feferi, Equius and Nepeta's bodies, as well as Eridan's legs, his head on the Jury's Table with Gamzee behind it. The second time is in an image of Gamzee with Tavros' body and head behind him as he talks to Dave, assuming this was before he put the heads on the jury's table.

Background (AU!Canon; HP): Killer~

Tavros was born in San Sebastian (Capital of Gipuzkoa, Spain) and raised by his mother, Alma Nitram. Being a half blood, his mom was always honest with him about magic, but his father didn't like it when she finally admitted it to him. He left them when Tavros was very young, thus leaving Alma to raise her boy on her own, with little money. Alma had graduated from Hogwarts in the hope of being a tamer of Magical Creatures, preferably dragons, but she fell in love with a Spanish Muggle and dropped everything to be with him in Spain. Once Tavros was born, she made sure to keep magic a secret between them, but she hated the fact she couldn't be honest with the man she loved. When she told him, he left her, unable to accept what she was and thought she was going crazy. After that, Alma worked as a waitress at a restaurant by the ocean, while Tavros played and swam all day with his “friends”.

Sadly, she noticed her little boys friends were more imaginary and less real. Even his favorite stuffed animal could talk, so he claimed which as a bull affectionately named Tinkerbull. His mom worried, but she knew that Tavros was an active boy with an equally active imagination. He believed in fairies and the fantasy tales, but because of this, he was often made fun of in the neighborhood. He tried not to let it bother him, even trying anything to fit in, as many kids do. Not only that, but he had his mothers talent with animals and often was bringing home different stray animals and trying to keep them. This was how they discovered his severe allergy to cats, but he still tries to love any and every animal who comes near him.

Tavros however, often tried to not let his lack of peers bother him. He always told his mom that he didn't need them to tell him who he was, that it was fine if it was just him, Tinkerbull and his mom. She didn't feel happy with that, because her boy, while seeming confident, was losing self esteem and quickly. Looking for jobs in the United Kingdom, anything that she could do to get her son into Hogwarts so he could benefit for it and maybe get some friends his age (and a little more real) Eventually, she started to work for the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. It was just a small job, and she was happy to take it and teach her son even more about their world.

Thanks to this opportunity, the eight year old and his mom moved to England and lived in Warwickshire for awhile. She commuted to work and Tavros helped with things around the house, still believing in fairies and such. Slowly, he began to discover his powers and Tavros felt that he was pretty good at charms, but it was hard to control them (I.e: he was blowing things up randomly with sick fires).

His confidence, however, was still low because of his inability to really relate to many kids. He was still kind and belived the words he spoke as a child, but it was hard for him to be confident when noone really accepted you. When he turned 11, he was accepted to Hogwarts and felt himself nervous because of the constant rejection. However, upon getting there, he made friends with two girls named Vriska and Terezi. Being a year younger, he was enthralled that older kids wanted to hang out with him. They goofed off and got in trouble together often.

One time they were flying around the quidditch pitch in a play game with some other friends. Vriska threw a spell mid-match, hitting Tavros and causing him to fall from his broom. When he hit the ground, he passed out, waking up in the hospital wing hours later. After a few days in there and many people from St Mungos coming to help, Tavros was told that he was paralyzed, which wasn't curable by any magic currently. Providing him with a wheelchair, it was charmed to go down stairs on on any terrain.

From then on, Tavros' already faltering self esteem was starting to go down. His mother comforted him and he still tried to be positive. His friends convinced him to personify his self esteem and make him seem like a person so that he could avoid getting his feelings hurt and damaging his self esteem more. So “Rufio” is the self esteem that he protects, and he's careful to not let that part of him get hurt, and slowly tries to realize that people are going to accept him despite his faults and paralysis. Even though Vriska was the reason he was like that, he was still friends with her, but not only that, he started to make more friends and become a little better at charms. Even though he had a hard tim playing Quidditch now, Tavros often likes to make himself fly through the halls in his chair. Now, in his third year, Tavros is wanting to find magical ways to cure paralysis, or maybe get something like artificial legs so that one day, he can walk again.

Queen~

How would your character fit in to each House?

Gryffindor: Tavros, despite his insecurities, can be brave. He's strong and attempts to fight, and he doesn't have a problem jumping in when he doesn't think something is right. When he finds out about Vriska, he immediately goes off and attempts to stop her, because he knows what she did was wrong. He has a strong sense of what was right and wrong, despite being unable to sometimes act on it.

Hufflepuff: Tavros is extremely loyal and a hard worker . Despite his obvious faults and the fact that everyone makes fun of him, he's loyal to his group of friends. Not only that but he takes it upon himself to help Jade through her adventure despite all the other trolls doing somewhat of the opposite at first. He's honestly viewed as the underdog because he's not strong or quick, but he's loyal and kind, which make up for his lack in physical skill. He works hard because he knows that he's got to make up for anything he lacks and be helpful to his team. Additionally, he's tolerant of a lot of behaviors, especially from Vriska, who was the one who made him paralyzed. He still puts up with her and plays the games with her like usual, despite the fact that even Karkat says he shouldn't put up with it.

Ravenclaw: Tavros is incredibly creative. He's never expressed as the smartest person on the team, but because of his imagination, he's able to figure out things quickly. Not only that, but he's always playing fiduspawn, which is a game that's sort of like Pokemon in real life, and roleplaying very intensely and taking it seriously. Sometimes, but very rarely he's insightful, much like when he figured out what Vriska did.

Slytherin: Tavros does have ambitions, such as being able to walk and being the best at rapping and games. However, while he's not very good at them, he doesn't seem to be bothered what people think about him. He can be competitive when it comes to games as well, and is determined to be the best at the game and access all the side quests, thus showing his ambition and competitive behavior, as the rest of the trolls don't do that. Not only that, but he does have a desire to prove himself because of his disability.

Sample Journal Entry:

I, uh, was trying to figure out my Defense homework. I guess it could be a little bit better, but I don't really understand the difference between a regular wolf and a werewolf. But if no one can help, uh...that's okay.

Uhh, so I was wondering too, if it was possible to magic away cat allergies? It seems like theres a lot of cats around here lately, and honestly, I don't want to tell people to get their cats away. I really like playing with them, but it's hard to be able to not sneeze around them. Of course, I don't want Nepeta to think that I don't like her or her cat, because that's not true, so maybe this was silly to talk about.

If...uhh, it was just tell me, I figure it's kind of a ridiculous thing to ask for. Or...I could have just gone to the hospital wing....

Sample Interaction Post in Third Person:

Tavros wheeled himself down the hall, his books in his bag behind his chair. It was kind of hard to get to class on time sometimes, considering he had to weave in between students. He thought maybe he could use a Hover Charm to get above them, but then again, people would probably laugh or maybe event stare. That was always kind of weird, but maybe he'd try it next time he got in a gaggle of students.

Looking around though, he noticed no one was around. It couldn't hurt to fly around a little, would it? Noone was around! Getting out his wand, he waved it, his charm work immediately making the chair fly up. Grinning, Tavros started to fly quickly towards his class, and he laughed as things zoomed by. However, when he heard a teacher call out as he passed them, he pulled off the charm and rolled down the stairs roughly.

Once he was save on flat ground, Tavros rubbed the side of his neck. The teacher came up to check on him and see if he was okay before giving him detention. When she walked off, he sighed.

“T...That always happens.” But he smiled anyway. Flying was so cool!
