The local MoveOn.org celebration party is aptly called "The Sigh of Relief."
I'll be going home tonight to discuss the new feeling with my very politically aware (though not particularly activist) parents, and hope to catch a rebroadcast of the ceremony and the parade. (I love parades.)
And rather selfishly, I'm glad to see young children in the White House again. Sasha and Malia are adorable.
I actually had a born-again Christian say she was "depressed" about today. I refrained from saying anything. She's required by Biblical command (1 Timothy 2) to pray for the president whether she agrees with him or not, and that, I feel, is enough rejoinder.
I wore my new USA men's soccer top--Clint Dempsey version--to commemorate the day...as I said in another forum, "Because I'm proud like that again."
