Okay, listen up, students! I hear a lot of teachers are giving tough finals, right? I've been pretty impressed with most of you so far this year, so I think I'll just let that slide for my class. Besides, coming up with a final for gym class isn't really easy, so... yeah. Consider it an early break from your favorite teacher! Just promise me you'll ( Read more... )

Wow, what a great memory to regain! It all sounds wonderful... but how sad that so few people seemed to appreciate the books...

It is, isn't it? I knew you'd appreciate it!

At least we can appreciate books.

Of course!

I suppose that is the silver lining, isn't it? If fewer people sought out the books, that left more for you and your friend!

But I'm curious, weren't writers where you came from? Was there some other medium for story-telling? It would be heartbreaking to hear that the practice had ended...

Yeah! I'm pretty sure that's how he looked at it, anyway.

I don't really remember. I know we still had stories, though - somehow! I can't imagine life without stories to read and to tell!

Well, I hope you two weren't the only ones who appreciated books...

Hmmm... well, when you remember you'll have to tell me! I'm curious now! Although I can't imagine that there would be a better means of storytelling...

Oh, no way! I'm sure there were others! I just... can't remember any of them right now.

I'd be glad to!

Thanks!

So your friend's store... do you remember what types of books he sold? Did he specialize in any genre, or did he have all kinds?

bulletserenade April 29 2009, 05:26:49 UTC
He had all kinds, yeah! Anything you could imagine!

[Sigh] It sounds wonderful! I'm so envious!

Books from another world... I wonder how they'd be different from the books I've read...

From what I remember, it was wonderful! I wish I could show you!

I don't know. Since we get all kinds of books here, maybe they come from all over the place!

I'd love to see! Maybe when someone figures out a way for us all to get back home, we'll also be able to visit each other's homes too! How great would that be?

That's certainly possible... but I haven't encountered any books yet that referenced anything I would find completely alien to me... but maybe there are books like that in the library and I just haven't found them yet. Or it could just mean that there are some things that are simply universal, regardless of where you come from...

I'm counting on it! I want to go back home, sure, but I've made so many friends here that I don't want top leave. So the only solution is to find a way to visit, right?

It makes you wonder, huh?

Right! And that way, if someone wasn't happy in their own world, they could relocate to one that better suited them.

It really does! I wouldn't mind researching either!

I'd help!
