I have more faith that Obama (if elected) will be well protected for the next 4 or 8 years then I do a group planning and carrying out an assassination attempt. There won't be a "race war" if something does happen. There is racial tension in America, but I don't feel that we (as a nation) will reach such a point that races, creeds, etc will divide.
Despite my misgivings towards both candidates, I think that either candidate will lead the nation forward. If the congress goes Democrat, there will be 2 years that will most likely create a socially liberal shift. With the next 4 years, the withdrawal of troops will enhance the image of the United States globally.
If McCain wins, the nation will be more centrist with social values.
I more value the make up of the congress in determining the direction of the economy.
No matter who wins, there will be a large burden on the taxpayers for the current economic conditions.
Honestly, I think either candidate is fine. I'm excited to see the direction of the nation. I hope that there isn't a liberal swing socially over the next few years.
