Awesome (in my opinion) metapuzzle scheme idea

Feb 19, 2009 11:00

A puzzle set, on the scope of one of those from the MIT Mystery Hunt, and such. Just, preferably one with no time limit, because of all the prerequisite-based structure.

Round 1: Room

Round 2: Home (prereq: Round 1)

Round 3: Neighborhood (prereq: Round 2)
Round 4: School and Work (prereq: Round 2)
Round 5: The Mall (prereq: Round 2)

Round 6: Town (prereqs: Rounds 3-5)
Round 7: Nation (prereqs: Rounds 3-5)
Round 8: World (prereqs: Rounds 3-5)

Round 9: Economy (prereq: Round 6)
Round 10: Diplomacy (prereq: Round 7)
Round 11: Science (prereq: 8)

Round 12: Society (prereq: Round 9)
Round 13: Religion (prereq: Round 10)
Round 14: Mathematics (prereq: Round 11)

Round 15: Humanity (prereq: Round 12)
Round 16: Soul (prereq: Round 13)
Round 17: Imagination (prereq: Round 14)

Round 18: Truth (prereqs: Rounds 15-17)
Round 19: Meaning (prereq: Round 18)

I originally conceived this idea as "some sort of puzzle set whose rounds started really small and became far-reaching, like in a videogame where you can choose where to go--say, something could start in one's bedroom, and end up ranging from heaven to hell". Well heaven and hell didn't quite fit into it when I actually came up with this in bed one night, but here are the results anyway.

Someone else feel free to take this idea and do something cool with it.
