I just spent the entire night basically following the Mississippi 1st congressional district special election like crazy.

Hey, c'mon, the results were REALLY close. The Democrat narrowly missed avoiding a runoff by 409 votes. Yes, the Democrat. MS-01 is a R+10 district. It was vacated when Roger Wicker was elevated to the US Senate to fill the seat vacated by former Sen. Trent Lott when Lott in late December 2007. The leading Democrat is Travis Childers, and the leading Republican is Greg Davis. In a strange campaign season in MS-01, three elections have occurred so far, one primary (on both sides), one primary runoff (on both sides), and finally, one general election. Now, there's going to be a runoff on 13 May. So far, the Democrats have spent $141,000, and the Republicans have spent $292,000. On an R+10 seat. That -should- be safe for the Republicans, right? Nope.

Oh, I also got no homework done.

I'm not sure what to say about myself.
