- I spent over 9000 14400 seconds on an n level. 96-4. That was probably more than I even spent on 67-4. Probably because 96-4 looks more beatable. It IS easier, but much more demanding in terms of perfect timing and maneuvering.

A friend introduced n to me and he still wonders why I play it. I hate low-error-tolerance games, and I don't like the game physics that much either. They're supposed to be "realistic", but they turn out just to be very unintuitive. Play Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow for a much better experience with tip-top precision control of your character.

Well, I like platforming, and I like revealing more and more levels by beating episodes. But I just don't like the gameplay. Too bad I play it as a way of procrastination, and I procrastinate too much as is. However, it does force me to really think hard about my habits...

- Gary Gygax failed his saving throw. Translation: The guy who created D&D, and pretty much founded the entire role-playing game genre, passed away yesterday. For a nice memorial picture (that now graces the wall outside my room), see this issue of Penny Arcade. Sadly, the real world doesn't have clerics with the True Resurrection spell...

+ I'm getting LyX! Okay, it's by the recommendation of that same friend who gave me n. But LyX seems much more useful, and probably much easier to work with as well.

+ The current sunsetting time is for some reason reminding me of the afternoon hours back in high school...

+ I've recently been smelling (I'm not kidding) various smells related to when I first came to college / moved into my dorm. Interesting.

+ I've realized that, while I don't follow issues keenly or do issue-based activism, and despite my saying that I'm not really an issue-based politics nerd, I DO care about some issues. The top issues I care about are education, foreign policy, alternative energy, and balancing the budget, possibly along with government integrity/ethics. The issues I -really- don't care about (and generally prefer not to hear about, despite how everyone talks about them) are abortion, gay marriage, and flag burning.

Now, the thing with me not being "issue-ly political" is that I rarely use any issue or set of issues as a litmus test. I focus on what the candidate's viewpoint/philosophy/whatnot is on an issue in general, but they don't necessarily have to agree with me or have the same priorities as mine for me to support them. I'm willing to support most candidates who, generally speaking, can convince me that they'll do the right things in office (whatever that means...but no, it's not as easy as it sounds. Really.).

+ Speaking of politics, I'm now endorsing Kirsten Gillibrand to represent New York's 20th District, and Zack Space to represent Ohio's 18th District.

+ I realized that I'm kinda interested in mathematical modeling, even though for whatever reason I'm not a math nerd. Okay, fine, I'm just not a -theoretical- math nerd. (Some of those people are kinda crazy sometimes.) But since I also like weather, maybe...I should go into weather modeling...?

- Oh, and Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" currently ranks among those songs whose music is kinda nice but whose lyrics I can't stand.
