Oh, you suck! *edit: fixed!*

So LJ has a new feature that uses some service from "snap.com" or whatever to display previews of webpages when you link to them, or something like that.

At least that's what happened to my earlier link to Uncyclopedia.

My journal page was loading and I was thinking, "Why is some website called snap.com or snapshot.com or something like that trying to set cookies on my computer?"

Why can't I have just a plain-and-simple hyperlink that displays itself as the text? For the last time, I don't like fancy bells and whistles unless I specifically ask for them, and even then, using a service from some other commercial internet-based service detracts from my liking it.

Let's see if it links that same way to some other sites:

web.mit.edu
http://www.google.com/
www.google.com
http://www.google.com/search?q=castletroid+hebereke&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Oh gawd damnit, it does. Now I have to be careful not to post links to certain things...

Die, feature! You don't belong in this blog!
It was not by my hand that I am once again given implementation. I was called here by SITE ADMINS who wished to use MY service.
Tribute?! You steal users' time, privacy, and computing power, and make them your slaves!
Perhaps the same could be said of all web features.
Your words are as useless as your function. Bloggers ILL NEED a feature such as you.
What is a blog?! *CRASH* A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk! Have at you!!

In other news, I seem to have misplaced my watch and my collection of laundry quarters. This sucks.

Update! I've fixed it! It no longer does that. Thank you very much, LiveJournal, for giving users a way to turn the feature off! :)

(I am evidently very attached to basic text interfaces, rejecting picturization of smileys and webpage snapshots. I just kinda wanna see...exactly and only everything I put there, which is exactly everything I can tweak just right to my taste.)
