Ahh, cold fall day, albeit sunny...reminds me of winter in Florida. Which then reminds me of high school, which then brings back memories...

Well, it might be influenced by the fact that I was friending several people on Facebook last night and took a detour to check out 3H2O's profiles. For the record, Ice's Humongous Iguana is now my desktop wallpaper.

(Just imagine, a relic/artifact known as "[person name]'s Humongous Iguana".)

So I have had the following observations:

+ By this point in our class-of-2007 college career, well over 90%, and approaching 99%, of girls in my class who are at least somewhat attractive already have boyfriends. Similar statistics exist for junior and sophomore classes--just not for freshmen, since it's been a mere week into school for them and our school isn't a state college where high school pals get to stay together. And this is attractiveness as I define it, which is already somewhat non-mainstream--i.e. there's some chance that a girl I consider attractive is not "highly demanded" by most guys.
+ Along with the fact that all those attractive girls are taken, a good many (albeit not all, of course) of them have nice personalities, and some not-as-attractive girls who have great personalities are also already taken. Given that, from my estimates, my tastes in personality might differ a bit more from the mainstream than do my tastes in attractiveness, and given that, from my observations, pretty girls usually get taken more quickly than nice (personality-wise) girls, I'd estimate that about a decent majority (60%~90%) of such girls are already taken.
+ So the chance of me finding, picking at random from my college's student population as a whole, a girl here who's single, whom I like, who is decently attractive, and who has a nice personality is darn near close to 1%, according to optimistic estimates.
+ Given that I usually end up hanging around the same people over and over again (i.e., not random), you can reduce that above probability a bit further.
+ Now, assuming I find such a girl, try to calculate the chance that she'll like me back. If you feel like being horrified, multiply this probability by the above, adjusted probability.
