Supernova 2006
Went to Supernova today. Spent a SHITLOAD of money. Here are the spoils:
- One Piece Mr. Prince plushie (YES! I've been wanting it for ages, even though it's tiny)
- Zoro plushie
-Giant Bleach Ichigo plushie
- Also a Bleach Kon plushie
- Kakashi plushie (I'm not too fond of Naruto, but I love Kakashi to bits)
- YYH Hiei plushie
And for non plushie items:
- monkfish, you're going to be very jealous of me because I picked up the sexiest Nico Robin figurine ever. So sexy, I was embarrassed as hell when my dad found it and looked at it, and I think he thinks I'm weird or gay now.
- Also the same type of figurine from the series, Water 7 Sanji. I should have bought more of these figurines, they are awesome as hell.
- 3 volumes of FAKE manga. My sister did indeed look over my shoulder, and did get even more annoying when I admitted it was a gay romance, with eventual sex. My good girl reputation is soon to be good as dead among my relatives. But man, this series is so lovely! I'm going to buy the rest tomorrow.
- Bought a FF7 lucky dip and ended up with a Silver-Haired Fag keychain. Damn it, I wanted Cloud. At least it was Loz, the SHF I hate the least.
The convention was even more packed this year, but it was fun. There were craploads more cosplayers too, and a lot of them were awesome. A pair of girls made my day by cosplaying as the Honey Bee girls from the brothel in Final Fantasy VII. I also saw some good OP cosplayers, but one of the Sanjis had a lollipop in his mouth. DEATH. Lot's of great Bleach cosplays, and only a few really brilliant outfits. There was a hot chick dressed up as Black Mamba from Kill Bill and I so would have done her if I were gay. Unfortunately there were no hot guys cosplaying. In fact, there were no hot guys, period. The closest one was an ANBU Kakashi, but I think the fact that most of his face was covered attributed to his hotness.
Saw that Summer Glau chick from Firefly. Didn't take her photo, but she was very pretty.
Saw a disgustingly fat chick dressed up in Tifa's hoochie outfit. For fuck's sake. She had rolls of fat everywhere, most of her ass was visible, and I could see the zits on it(!). Some people...
Also had to stand in a long queue in front of some mental girls. Mental because they kept saying icky things like "bishie" and one practically orgasmed when some not-so-great-looking-guy had cosplayed as Ishida (Ishida? ISHIDA? Who orgasms over Ishida?). I spent the time bitching about other peoples' shitty costumes (Cosplayfucks.net has taught me well), and probably pissing off the people in front of me. The organisation at the place was ridiculous and I hope they fix up the messy queue problem next time.
Rachel had fun because of the weirdos, and because there were displays and toys that satisfied her LotR and TV show geekiness. She even bought some Sealab 2021 toys.
