On his arrival at Amman, in Transjordan, General Crocker was met by Group Captain W.S. Hedden, Commanding Royal Air Force Station, Amman, and by the Commander in Chief of the Arab Legion Brigadier John Bagot Glubb. A guard of honour was provided by the Royal Air Force and the party as escorted to King Abdulla's palace by Bedouin Arab Legion troops where he was received into King Abdulla's study. His Majesty, who was dressed in white head dress and a large black robe, spoke to the Commander in Chief in Arabic, which was translated by Brigadier Glubb Pasha.
