So, Andrew, What do you do all day?
Well. That is a tough question because there is hardly an answer. I have been waking up around eight or nine in the morning mainly. And until recently when I actually went grocery shopping, I have been drinking tea and eating ramen for breakfast. From there it is really random. Sometimes I will feel inspired and look up a cool day trip in my Lonely Planet guide to Taiwan. I have now extensively explored the city. I have been to all the areas and used all of the subway lines now. I have found a great deal of good places to go. So, if anyone wants to come visit, - and please do - I will have places to take you, haha. Anyway, if I do not go out, I sit around my apartment watching movies. I have seen every dvd I own at least once now, many twice, and I have watched Donnie Darko probably more times than anyone else in the world by now.
I got the internet on Friday morning, and did not - literally - leave my apartment until Saturday night. By that time I had no food or drinks and my stomach was rumbling. I went on about.com and looked up what every Chinese kitchen should be stocked with, copied the list, and went to the super market. So, now I have tons of cooking supplies and food, but still no heat source to cook with. It is pretty freaking ironic that I have all this food, but I am still eating ramen from the convenience store down the street. Oh! They have dumplings now, and they are SO good. Ew...god, that is like exclaiming about the culinary delight that is the chili cheese hot dog from a food cart in New York. Boy, have I got some issues to work through.

Andrew, aren't you supposed to be taking classes or something?
This is true my imaginary interviewer person. I got to Taiwan a little over a week before classes start so that I would have enough time to get used to the city and find my way around. Well, it has been a little over a week now, and tomorrow I have orientation from nine am to about eleven am. This means I have to get up a little after eight tomorrow morning, shower, eat breakfast, get dressed (yes - in that order), and be off to the center by at least a quarter till nine. After orientation, I pick up my class schedule and find out what level I tested into with the written test, and I assume I choose my culture class...but I am not sure about that. After all that, I need to talk to someone from the school about my visa. I was issued a single entry visa because the person at the office claimed that once I am here in Taiwan and have an address, I can get it changed to a resident visa. The thing is that the acceptance letter from my school clearly states that they cannot verify for resident visas. So, I am a little confused by all this.

I saw the tallest building in the WORLD today...up-close and personal.
I have noticed that no matter where I am in the city, I can almost always see this building to the west. I was chatting online to someone and they randomly ask me if I have ever seen this certain building, and then send me a link to this website. I then realized that it is the mystical building I freaking see no matter where I go as if it were my stalker. I then looked up the address online, found it on my map, and figured out that the subway goes right to it. So, today at around five in the afternoon, I set out to see it. Here are my pictures.

The view of it right after getting off the subway.

I realized that I have not posted too many pictures that really show I am in Asia.
So, here's one.

Eye Heart Metric.

Yeah - your guess is as good as mine.
Snowflakes? yeah...RIGHT.

This is a mall called "New York New York".
There is a mini statue of liberty at the entrance.

Once again...reflective surface equals picture of me pretending not to notice
that I am taking a picture of myself in a reflective surface.

I took this while standing at the base.
Around the bottom of the tower it spreads out and is a mall. I bought a new book-bag in it.
