Has anyone ever had their nose or other body part chemically cauterized? Noo? Yess? Anyway, I just spent 3 and a half hours in the Quincy Medical center Hospital last night after picking Liz up from work getting my nose RE-cauterized. I say "re" because it is the same frickin procedure I had like 15 years ago. DAMN IT HURTS! If anyone wants to know what it is like... It is a stick that looks like a looong fireplace match with a ball of silver nitrate on the end of it. This is inserted into my nostril and smeared around basically melting the skin so it re-heals the part that won't stop bleeding....The pain is something like if you took small pebles and boiled them in water for like an hour, smeared them with the hottest chilli peppers you can find and then shoved them up your nose.
Oh yeah, I have been getting massive bloody noses for the last week and a half or so. I have a deviated septum and have been slowly exposing the membrane and then the blood vessels of my right nostril just by breathing.... This happened in high school also. I used to get bloody noses all the time, then one night while over a friends house I bled for over 5 hours. I filled three of those bathroom "dixie" cups up with blood, snarfled a sinus size (about the size of a childs fist) blood clot down the back of my throat and kept bleeding. Never passed out once! Whoo hoo! So I had the cauterizing thing done before. It helped up to now and well I had it done again last night. lets hope this holds for another 15 years....
On a little more scary note, I have to change my eating habits and exercize more. I discovered last night while with the triage nurse that my stupid high blood pressure is back. it was 191/108 in my left arm and 211/106 in my right arm.... That, for those of you who don't know, IS NOT GOOD! I am on a blood pressure lowering medication AGAIN, and need to go to nutritionist to see whqat I can and can not eat. They think it was set off by my stellar and nutritious diet of the past 2 weeks that consisited of (in no particular order) a double quarter pounder with cheese fries, Wendy's food, Southern Fried Chicken, Too much soda, ramen, chips, microwave popcorn,.... you get the picture... Anyway, Its Veggies Veggies Veggies and rice and chicken and fish for me for a while.
Anyway I AM FINE!
No need to worry!
The medicine that the hospital gave me lowered my BP to respecable levels, I am making an appointment to see my primary care physician this week and I am going to eat better.
So I will be sticking around for a long time to bother you all! No worries about that!
Well I am off to shower and get ready for work. PEACE!
