msn rant
so my msn is not working and admittedly,I feel cut off from the world...
It's an interesting phenomenon, isn't it? When msn doesn't work, you lose contact with everything...suddenly, you can't talk to your friends, you can't chat, a chunk of your social life has just vanished...think I'm exaggerating? When was the last time you picked up the phone instead of logging in? In my case, it's even worse since calling would mean making long distance calls that I can't afford...
Even with friends within the same country msn is prefered over the phone.
What I find ironic though is that when msn is working, I hardly talk to other people...I simply leave it on for the sake of knowing that I'm not disconnected, that my friends are out there, even if I don't speak to them...
Am I making any sense? I'm not sure...but I know that I'd rather have msn working and not use it than having it not work...
I guess people just like having the option...like radio, no one really listens to it but you like having the options to listen when mp3s and CDs get boring...
That's how life is...we're so used to these commodities that we can't imagine them not being around...and when they're not around, it becoms tv entertainment (think survivor and what not).
I don't know...it bugs me that I'm so dependent of technology...maybe I should take one of those discovery trips to Africa where most countries just have the basics and sometimes, not even that.
