Sometimes I feel like the luckiest person on earth

I went to the library today, and found a book entitled 'Jobs For Filmfreaks'. Naturally, I took it home and started reading immediately. It basically describes lots and lots of jobs which have to do with movies and TV, complete with interviews and stuffs, so that you can see what people have to say about their jobs. I stumbled across the article concerning extras. You know, people whose job it is to stand in the background, as part of a crowd or something. Anyway, the guy said that being an extra isn't a good way to get in the professional acting business, but if you're looking to see how movies are made and what kind of jobs there are, then it's like a paid lesson.

So I thought 'YAY!' Just what I need. And off I am, scanning the internet for companies that have archives of extra actors and you know, administer them, are contacted by the directors when they need people. Found quite a few promising ones, actually. It helps that I live quite near Cologne, which is one of the major movie-making cities.

One of these sites was advertising their free castings, so I clicked on the link and there it was, a casting right in my hometown, on the 24th/25th of April. Which is like- ideal. It's like the perfect opportunity to try and see what film-making is really like, to see it all live. Or at least try to achieve that goal.

Of course, I'm terrified of signing up. Honestly, I petrified and full of doubts and scared out of my wits when I think of going to this casting. Still, I think I should go anyway. I mean, this is a great opportunity that won't cost me a cent. I've got nothing to loose.

Holy shit I'm nervous.

Still, it's all kinds of amazing that this kind of opportunity just happens to show up right when I'm looking for it. I must be having a really lucky day or something.

EDIT: Oh and BTW, I LOVE my sidebar <3 Time for a bit of self-praise :)
