Of festivals and forgetful idiots....
Muromachi made mention that Oban should be coming up next week....I had forgotten about it somehow, which surprised me since it's considered a big event in my family with both myself and my grandfather (and possibly Masuyo, but it's hard to tell for sure at his age...plus, he's a rather stupid child) having the ability to see spirits.....There is something comforting and pleasant about seeing how the dead perceive and react to the honor and respect given to them during this time when they all too often feel forgotten otherwise.....However, it's also a stress-inducing event...As having that many spirits flocking to one location and intermingling with large crowds of the living makes it difficult to concentrate on your surroundings....I used to hate it as a child, back before I had better focus.....People tend to stare at you and give you the angriest looks when you start talking to what looks like blank space and then insist that their deceased mother said something about how cruel their daughter-in-law had been to her while she was alive..........But that was years ago...And that ugly cow didn't deserve her husband....
....But I would be going to a Tokyo festival for it this time around.....It will be a lot different from those in Okinawa, I'm sure.......I have heard they do a different dance instead of the Eisaa....That may be interesting to see.......And it will definitely much more crowded, which would mean having to concentrate even harder than usual to focus on my surroundings...Plus I just dislike crowding, in general...I can already tell my temper is going to be short, as a result. Though, with luck, I won't feel the need to take out my irritations on a random passerby...
Even with the downfalls, though, I am looking forward to it....And with it coinciding with Nationals, everyone from Higa will be able to experience it first hand, as well....I am glad for that....
...In other news, after speaking with a diminutive Ponta-drinking brat from Seigaku a while back, it occurred to me that people apparently don't know their own names.....So to help others who might be just as clueless, I have compiled a list for everyone containing each individual's name......If by some chance you aren't on the list, it means I don't care who you are, so there's no point in knowing your name....You will just have to get over it and remain nameless.....Or find someone else who cares enough to waste their time reminding you....
Now, I know there are some of you who go by more than one name...If that is the case, I have listed all that I can to the best of my abilities. Feel grateful that I'm so considerate....Anyone from Higa is automatically exempt from the list, as I know they're smart enough to remember things like this....ne, RinPrincess....?
