Another birthday...
Ended up calling home today....Didn't really want to speak to Kaa-san because I always end up having to hear more lectures from her about how I should be focusing more on my English studies, I'm going to a good school for it, so stop all this nonsense with my silly hobby and blah blah blah...But I put up with it because I had called to speak with someone else in the house and I knew I wouldn't be able to without going through her first......But I had called to talk with Etsuko....It's her birthday today. I got to hear her fuss at me also...She's starting to become like our mother, I swear...She's mad at Nii-chan for being away from home right now on such a special day....She just turned 13. She's in her first year of middle school right now....And at Higa, of course.....And while I was originally weary of her going there just because, yes, we really are deserving of the reputation, she is apparently handling herself very well there....Heh...Apparently having the family name of Chinen is benefiting her rather nicely...And for any stupid little shitty punks who still try anything with her knowing who she's related to, I know she'll be okay....Since Kaa-san wouldn't let her or Nozomi take martial arts lessons like she did me, I ended up teaching them myself....They both can kick any fucking brat's ass who tries to touch them...
But 13 is a good number in our family...Even though she and Nozomi don't have an ounce of shamanic ability in them, they still know this and consider it an important number....So Etsuko is upset with me for not being home to help celebrate her turning such a special age........And I really wish I was. I miss home........She also asked me if turning 13 meant she would be able to see all kinds of things like me and Ojii-san soon.......I couldn't bring myself to crush her hopes for such things....Not on today of all days.....So I lied to her.....I don't know how I'm going to fix that, but for now, if she wants to believe she is going to start seeing ghosts, then so be it....If it makes her happy...
Hopefully her gift will arrive in the mail in the next day or so....I know she loves that damn cutesy pony shit, so I got her a bag that looks like a stuffed pink unicorn....She better be fucking grateful, because she can't even begin to comprehend the embarrassing questioning stares I was given while buying it...
Also, before I forget, since I'm apparently a messenger, I'm told to say she is also really, really mad at "Rin-nii" and "Tou-nii" because they're "in charge" of me and neither of them made me come back home plus they didn't come to see her themselves either, so she is sooooo not going to talk to them for a really long time......Which probably means she'll be calling you both this weekend....
