these things work:

-chanterelle mushrooms, leeks, fingerling potatoes with a bit of butter, olive oil, truffle oil, salt, pepper, tabasco
-pumpkin cheesecake http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/pumpkin-cheesecake-recipe/index.html
-quinoa (cooked with vegetable stock, a bit of balsamic and apple cider vinegar) with kale, yellow heirlooms, avocado
-goat cheese, sun-dried tomato quiche with whole wheat crust

the pumpkin cheesecake recipe is highly recommended. i think i'll be making quite a few of them this season.
