post-honeymoon
Back from the honeymoon. Chicago was a lot of fun, weather was nice and the lake allowed for a great breeze all week. We went to a bunch of Museums (avoid free days because it means field trip day for chicago schools) and did some shopping, that's about it heheh. Our hotel was great, we got a free limo service in the mornings which was cool. The food there was mixed... We didn't try anthing to exotic or ethnic unfortunately. I really wanted to try some Middle eastern or asian places but we never got around to it. Me and Cathie both got food poisoning from the Cheesecake Factory, it was about the worst meal I had ever eaten, period. We paid literally $30 a piece to eat stuff that seriously tasted like cold KFC with gritty gravy dumped over everthing. It was nasty and the biggest restaraunt in the hancock center (the 96-story building with the observation deck) so we thought it would be good, now we know better :P We didn't end up getting a whole lot of pictures on the honeymoon of us but a lot of zoo and aquarium animals, which is fine. It kind of sucks coming back to columbia, Missouri. This city seems so small and quiet, and really really boring, like there is literally nothing to be done in Columbia. That and there isn't a nice lake breeze here so it's just muggy. I'm pretty sure Cathie had a good time, she got blisters on her feet from walking around so much but she was in a pretty good mood throughout except at the very start when we missed our first flight to Chicago becuase it too us an extra 3 and half hours to get to st. louis due to "construction" which really meant closing the highway down to 1 lane for what seemed like 50 miles to have only one dump truck parked on the shoulder of the highway, surrounded by obese chainsmokers sitting around and fingering their noses at the very end. But we made it to chicago in back all in one piece and spent too much monehy on stuff like movies but it was well worth it all. Now I just need to get back into normal life mode and head back to work tomorrow, woot :P
