Today has been a crazy day. I went from work (at 10) to class (at 2) on to an epic Norwich adventure so my friend could go vote. I was home for about 2 minutes before I headed out for my second class (at 6). I was in my room another 10 minutes before I locked myself in the computer lab to work on my literature review. I was downstairs for about an hour and half before I found myself paying way more attention to CNN.com than to my work and opted just to go back to my room. My full attention was on the incoming election results. Every hour meant more states closing polls, more electors handed out and being one step closer to finding out who the next president would be.
I've been following this thing from day one. I had read Dreams from My Father years ago, and it sparked my interested that Obama would be running for president. I kept an open mind throughout the whole process, but with each time I saw him speak he gained more and more of my support.
Needless to say, I could not explain how happy I am that he's going to be running the country for the next four years. I've been overexcited ever since I heard the news. Perhaps it's foolish to have this much faith in a politician, and I do try to take things with a grain of salt, but I can only see things improving from here. And certainly, I'm ecstatic that Sarah Palin is out of my life for at least the time being.
This is absolutely a historic election and I'm so happy I got to be a part of that.
