Every year a couple of my Dad's friends send him mixes of Christmas songs. I guess I've never really been interested enough to take a look at what was on them. All the one he's been sent in the past five years or so were sitting on the coffee table in our living room, so I went through them. I got about half way through the stack when I saw that one of them from dated 2003 had Dance Hall Crashers - "I Did It for the Toys" on it amongst a solid list of folk acts. References to bands I love always make me smile, especially when I would never have expected it.

I'm actually mostly okay with the whole Christmas thing this year. Which is progress, at least.
