And I shan't mourn it. ;) I'm not a Federer fan (I'm a fan of his prettiful post-backhand poses, though - does that count?), but I like him more than Djokovic.
my tl;dr thoughts on djokovic - let me show u them!inbootsSeptember 11 2007, 11:33:48 UTC
The fake injuries, using the time-out to call the trainers and cool off a match when it's not going his way (and then running around like crazy right after, converting shots easily), the theatrics, the throwing of water bottles on the floor - they all rub me the wrong way. :/
Also, his temper tantrums strike me as the fakest thing ever. When Marat Safin throws his racket on the floor and curses, I believe him. The dude goes red in the face and looks about to explode. Djokovic just... bah. *handwaves*
Then there was the whole, "Oh, if it weren't for injuries, I could've totally beaten Nadal in Wimbledon". Right. You could. But you didn't. You gave up. So shut. up.
but i just can't seem to bring myself to like him...
I know. There's something about Federer that inspires very little emotional investment. It prevents him from endearing himself to me completely. But I do respect his class and his game. Plus, the pretty backhand. :D

ok, to be honest, i have not followed tennis very closely this year, except for the us open. so i can't really judge djokovic's behaviour. but the things you have mentioned are really things that i don't like in a player either. so maybe he will lose my heart soon ;)
but what stroke me at the us open, was his smile. when he didn't manage to win the first set after having led 40-0, all he did was shaking his head disbelievingly and he put up that smile that seemed to say: no way! i liked that ;)
enough said, i hope you understood all my thoughts, i feel like my english is getting worse every day :D
